The 3 buildings that we will be investigating were all built between 1890 and 1900. One building is a bank. One was a company store and topless bar and then there is the Gatley building.

The town was a big mining town which had many accidents. The mining company was owned by a man named Walter Fitch. The Fitch family was very well known and wealthy. They have their own cemetery and it is said that the family was buried with valuables and that the cemetery is cursed. Eureka is also home of the late Port Rockwell’s cabin known as the Destroying Angel. He was the bodyguard to Joseph Smith and Brigham Young. It is rumored that the bank is haunted by an old owner. Town people express experiencing paranormal activity and believe it to be Walter Fitch. People have experienced being touched, hearing voices as well as different noises in the buildings. Paranormal investigations have revealed different evidence such as an image of a figure looking like a miner digging, evp’s of a man whispering “go away” and a child’s voice. Groups have heard walking in rooms overhead and big bangs. And in the Gatley building one group noted seeing the image of a girl than right after the sighting hearing a girl’s voice.
